About the Event

The youngest son of Shaman Nai Beiya Īkamuru and Master weaver Nāke, Txana Siã comes from the Boa Vista Parque Shunu Village, in the state of Acre, Brazil. He is a young indigenous artist of the Huni Kuin people, 20 years old, dedicated from an early age to building a bridge of knowledge exchange between his people and the contemporary world, playing an important role for his family. This movement not only enriches cultural diversity but also establishes solid bridges of intercultural understanding, promoting the richness and authenticity of Huni Kuin culture in big cities.

As the son of a great elder shaman, Txana Siã has been dedicated to a deep study to share sacred prayers during his trip to Europe.

Tradicional Medicines

SHANĒTSAMATI/ SANANGA: Medicinal eye drops made from plant roots and water, applied directly to the eyes. It serves to preserve ocular health and prevent conditions such as glaucoma and cataracts, ward off and protect against negative energies, and open pathways to good dreams and visions, bringing good fortune in every aspect.

HUME HESHKE / RAPÉ: Fine powder made from the ashes of tobacco combined with the ashes of tree barks, herbs, and other plants. Inhaled through the nose using sacred instruments called Tepi and kuripe, rapé is a medicine that brings grounding, stability, energetic cleansing, connection, and relief from troubled thoughts. It also offers the benefit of treating respiratory diseases and migraines.

YURA KĪ NANĒ KENEa -  PROTECTION  PAINTING

For the Huni Kuin people, sacred geometries are known as `Kene´, expressed through crafts and also through body paintings. Each geometry holds a story and a meaning. For indigenous individuals, it symbolizes spiritual protection and connection with the forces of the forest. The paints used are natural, known as Mashe (annatto) and Nane (genipap).
